There are two different types of versions for FireStart models: major and minor. A major version will be forced when, for example, an element is deleted, whereas a minor version is created when an element is added.
Once a process model has an execution, it turns into read-only and any changes will force a new version. Whether the forced version is major or minor depends on was is changed.
Major versions are created by incrementing the number on the left side of the comma (1.00, 2.00, etc.), minor versions by incrementing the number on the right side of the comma (1.01, 1.02, etc.).
You can create a new version yourself at any time:
- Open the Save As dialog from the Main tab
- Check the checkbox Save as a new version, and choose whether you want to have a new minor or major version.
- Click Save and the new version will be created.
